Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school on established routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of bus systems and safety equipment
- Maintain orderly behavior among passengers during transit
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and school district safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Document mileage, incidents, and student counts accurately
- Assist students with boarding and exiting procedures including mobility aids
- Report mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately
Qualifications
- No prior driving experience required - we provide paid training!
- Valid Florida Driver's License or ability to obtain one
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with school bus endorsement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work with children of all ages
- Physical ability to assist students with mobility needs
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
