Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality
- Supervise students during loading/unloading and enforce bus conduct policies
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Assist students with mobility needs as required
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Driver's License (minimum Class D)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to obtain CDL within 90 days of hire
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Patience and ability to work with children aged 5-18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No prior driving disqualifications
