Responsibilities
- Transport students to and from school and school activities in a safe, timely, and orderly manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly bus environment at all times.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, school bus safety regulations, and state DOT requirements.
- Manage student behavior and ensure a secure boarding and exiting process.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, school staff, and parents regarding schedules and issues.
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
- Clean driving record (MVR) and proof of insurability.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with children.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
