Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities according to a fixed route schedule.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain order on the bus, assist students with boarding and exiting, and communicate effectively with parents and school staff.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately to dispatch.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- A clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Pass a background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with children.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional afternoons.
- Willingness to undergo safety training and obtain required certifications.
