Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to strict schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance
- Maintain a positive, orderly environment for student passengers
- Follow all traffic laws and school district transportation policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Document student attendance and incident reports accurately
- Provide first aid assistance in emergency situations
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- Minimum 3 years driving experience with clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Background clearance through NC Childcare Criminal Registry
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
