Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students to/from school and extracurricular activities
- Conduct daily pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and safety checks
- Maintain orderly conduct on the bus while enforcing district policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Complete accurate trip logs and incident reports
- Ensure proper student loading/unloading at designated stops
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Passenger endorsement
- Minimum 3 years driving experience with clean MVR
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- School Bus Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work split shifts (early morning/afternoon)
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and ability to work with diverse student populations
