Job Overview
As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and school-related activities. You will serve as a role model and a guardian to the students in your care, ensuring their well-being throughout the commute.
Responsibilities
- Operate school buses safely and efficiently on assigned routes in Anchorage, AK.
- Ensure the safety and punctuality of students during loading, unloading, and transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, school administration, and parents regarding schedule changes or student issues.
- Follow all traffic laws and district transportation policies strictly.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including those with special needs.
Qualifications
- Clean, valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement.
- Pass a comprehensive background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
- Strong customer service skills and the patience to work with children.
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable work history and a commitment to safety.
