Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular activities
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement techniques
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and district routing schedules
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Complete accurate trip logs and incident reports
- Maintain clean and orderly bus interior
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with P endorsement
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts
- Experience working with children preferred
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings/afternoons)
