Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure student safety during loading/unloading and transit
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations
- Assist with special needs student transportation protocols
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clear driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- High school diploma or equivalent
