Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain daily logs
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and emergency procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for field trips and special events as scheduled
- Ensure compliance with Texas CDL regulations and school district policies
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to obtain required certifications through district training
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Experience working with children preferred
- Flexible availability for early morning/afternoon shifts
- Basic first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
