Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality
- Supervise student behavior and maintain orderly conduct during transportation
- Implement emergency procedures and safety protocols for all passenger situations
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and transportation supervisors
- Maintain accurate records of routes, incidents, and student attendance
- Participate in ongoing training for defensive driving and child safety techniques
- Assist students with mobility needs and ensure accessibility compliance
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Clean driving record with no major violations (DUI, reckless driving, etc.)
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and manage physical demands
- Excellent communication skills and ability to supervise children
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
