Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain clean buses
- Supervise student boarding, exiting, and behavior during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Respond to student emergencies with calm professionalism
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (Class B with Passenger endorsement)
- Minimum 3 years driving experience with clean MVR record
- Pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- School Bus Endorsement Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts if needed
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- Must be 21+ years old
