Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior and enforce transportation policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for field trips, extracurricular activities, and emergency situations
- Complete accurate incident reports and maintenance documentation
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid Nebraska Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 1 year driving experience (CDL preferred)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Excellent driving record with no major violations
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly and professionally
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to cover multiple routes as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
