Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial delivery vehicle to transport packages and documents to designated addresses in Washington DC and surrounding areas.
- Practice defensive driving techniques and adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations at all times.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Interact professionally with customers, handling packages with care and maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Update delivery status in real-time using our mobile tracking technology.
- Manage time efficiently to ensure on-time delivery windows are met.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record (no DUIs or major moving violations within the last 3 years).
- Current DOT Medical Card (if applicable for vehicle size).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Reliable access to a suitable vehicle (if required by position specifics).
- Proficient smartphone usage for navigation and logging apps.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to solve problems on the fly.
