Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for complex optimization problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims in controlled environments
- Collaborate with AI teams to develop hybrid quantum-classical machine learning models
- Author peer-reviewed publications and contribute to open-source quantum frameworks
- Mentor junior researchers and present findings at international conferences
- Secure external research funding through NSF and DARPA grants
- Develop error-correction protocols for practical quantum applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum circuit design or quantum annealing
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, or Cirq)
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research grants
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
