Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical applications in machine learning and optimization
- Develop error mitigation techniques for fault-tolerant quantum computing systems
- Lead experimental research on superconducting and photonic quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum architectures for 2026-era applications
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Secure $5M+ in research grants from DARPA, NSF, and industry partners
- Mentor PhD candidates and lead cross-functional innovation sprints
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years postdoc experience
- Published 15+ papers in Nature/Science or equivalent journals on quantum algorithms
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency with Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum circuit optimization frameworks
- Track record of translating theoretical models to experimental implementations
- Experience securing federal research grants (DARPA/NSF preferred)
- Strong background in condensed matter physics or quantum information theory
- Exceptional communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
