Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware systems at cryogenic temperatures
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Collaborate with industry partners to translate theoretical breakthroughs into commercial applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum computing platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault tolerance
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra and probability theory
- Experience with high-performance computing architectures
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contract work
