Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Enforce safety protocols during boarding, transit, and drop-off
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for field trips, athletic events, and emergencies
- Complete daily trip logs and incident reports accurately
- Maintain calm demeanor during challenging situations
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and navigate bus steps/stairs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and experience working with children
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor troubleshooting
- Availability for morning and afternoon shifts
