Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to all traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and positive reinforcement
- Maintain accurate attendance records and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school staff
- Emergency response training and evacuation procedures
- Adhere to strict safety protocols during all transportation activities
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with School Bus endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts as needed
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
- Flexible availability for morning and afternoon routes
