Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Manage student behavior with firm yet compassionate guidance
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and route adjustments
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and navigate bus steps safely
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Must pass criminal background check and fingerprinting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
