Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, blood products, and pharmaceuticals using temperature-controlled vehicles
- Maintain strict chain-of-custody protocols and documentation for all medical shipments
- Navigate St. Petersburg efficiently to meet tight delivery deadlines while adhering to traffic laws
- Verify patient information and delivery instructions before each transport
- Perform vehicle pre-trip inspections and maintain cleanliness of transport equipment
- Communicate professionally with healthcare staff and resolve delivery exceptions promptly
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and infection control standards at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical courier or healthcare transport experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and operate temperature-controlled medical transport units
- Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple same-day deliveries
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical specimen handling protocols
- Proficient with GPS navigation and mobile communication systems
- Reliable smartphone with data plan for real-time communication
