Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, lab results, and pharmaceuticals between clinics, labs, and hospitals
- Maintain precise temperature control for temperature-sensitive materials using specialized equipment
- Document all transfers using electronic tracking systems and maintain chain-of-custody records
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance protocols and maintain patient confidentiality
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure proper biohazard waste disposal
- Coordinate with medical facilities to optimize delivery schedules and resolve delivery exceptions
- Complete detailed delivery logs and incident reports as required
Qualifications
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year medical courier or healthcare logistics experience
- OSHA bloodborne pathogen certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficiency with GPS navigation and mobile tracking applications
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly and operate temperature-controlled units
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
- Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Pass background check and drug screening
