Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, lab samples, pharmaceuticals, and sensitive equipment between healthcare facilities
- Maintain precise temperature control for time-sensitive shipments using specialized containers
- Adhere to strict HIPAA protocols and chain-of-custody procedures for all medical materials
- Optimize delivery routes using GPS navigation to ensure timely arrivals across Austin
- Document all transfers with electronic manifests and maintain accurate delivery logs
- Conduct vehicle safety inspections before and after each shift
- Provide exceptional customer service to medical staff and facility contacts
Qualifications
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record (no moving violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and navigate medical facility stairs/elevators
- Basic familiarity with medical terminology and specimen handling protocols
- Strong time-management skills with punctuality for scheduled pickups/deliveries
- Experience with temperature-controlled transport equipment preferred
- Ability to work independently while following detailed routing instructions
- Background check and drug screening clearance required
- Basic smartphone proficiency for electronic manifests and communication
