Responsibilities
- Transport time-sensitive medical specimens, blood products, and pharmaceuticals using temperature-controlled containers
- Maintain precise delivery documentation and chain-of-custody records per HIPAA regulations
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain sanitized, organized courier equipment
- Coordinate with hospital staff, lab technicians, and receiving departments for seamless handoffs
- Utilize GPS tracking systems to optimize routes and ensure on-time deliveries
- Adhere to strict biohazard safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Communicate delivery status updates and delays through our proprietary mobile app
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois driver's license with clean driving record (minimum 3 years)
- Previous medical courier or healthcare logistics experience preferred
- OSHA bloodborne pathogen certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Proficiency with mobile technology and real-time tracking systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow complex protocols
- Strong time management skills with ability to navigate Chicago traffic efficiently
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
- Background check and drug screening required
