As a driver for Piedmont Courier, you will be the face of our company, ensuring our clients receive their shipments with care and professionalism. We value our drivers and are committed to maintaining a culture of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Safe and Timely Deliveries: Transport packages to residential and commercial addresses within the Charlotte metro area, ensuring timely and safe arrival.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, handle package hand-offs with care, and resolve any delivery issues efficiently.
- Vehicle Care: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the delivery vehicle is clean, fueled, and in good working order.
- Route Management: Utilize GPS and mapping software to optimize delivery routes and adhere to scheduled timelines.
- Documentation: Accurately complete delivery logs, proof of delivery (POD) forms, and expense reports.
- Load Management: Safely load and unload parcels from the delivery van, ensuring weight distribution is balanced for safe driving.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: A current, valid Class C Driver's License and a clean driving record (no DUIs or major violations in the last 3 years).
- Experience: Previous experience in delivery, logistics, or courier services is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, self-motivated, and able to work independently without constant supervision.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift. Good physical stamina.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable using smartphone apps for navigation and digital signature capture.
