Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including straight trucks and vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and report any maintenance needs.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement of packages.
- Maintain accurate digital logs (ELD) and delivery records in compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during drop-offs, including handling signatures and proof of delivery.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized, maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding route changes or delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Previous experience in local delivery or logistics preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of the Sacramento area and local roadways.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for logging delivery data.
