Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight within Oakland and surrounding Bay Area routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and document vehicle maintenance reports
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Efficiently manage loading/unloading operations with dock teams
- Maintain accurate delivery records and electronic logs (ELD)
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Collaborate with dispatch team for route optimization and on-time deliveries
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and operate in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with Bay Area geography and port operations preferred
- Pass background check and drug screening requirements
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Basic smartphone proficiency for mobile app communication
- Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings and weekends
