Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles on local delivery routes within North Carolina and surrounding regions.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using standard loading equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Complete all necessary delivery paperwork, bills of lading, and electronic logging entries accurately.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Interact professionally with customers and warehouse personnel to ensure high service satisfaction.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs and road hazards immediately to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR check within the last 3 years).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Basic math skills for calculating cargo weight and invoices.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends if necessary.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
