Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport goods across designated routes in San Jose and surrounding areas
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logging system records
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions and resolve delivery-related inquiries
- Adapt routes in real-time to optimize efficiency while meeting delivery time windows
- Collaborate with dispatch team to communicate delays, incidents, or route changes
- Ensure cargo security and proper handling during loading/unloading procedures
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record (no major violations in 3+ years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable experience operating tractor-trailers in commercial settings
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and California traffic laws
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks as needed
- Proficient in using GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to pass mandatory background check, drug screening, and physical examination
