Responsibilities
- Safe Vehicle Operation: Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers to deliver cargo to designated drop-off points in Virginia Beach and the surrounding region.
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Perform comprehensive daily inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues before departure.
- Cargo Management: Securely load and unload freight, ensuring all items are handled with care and placed in the correct location.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of delivery receipts, times, and logs, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and customers, handling inquiries and delivery exceptions with a positive attitude.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must possess a valid, unexpired Commercial Driver's License (Class A) with the proper endorsements.
- Clean Driving Record: Must have a satisfactory MVR with no serious violations or accidents within the last three years.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods. Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to navigate using GPS systems and digital logs.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience preferred.
