Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight safely and efficiently across Maryland and surrounding regions.
- Load and unload cargo using hand trucks or forklifts, ensuring all items are secured properly.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving time, mileage, and delivery records in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure a zero-accident record.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering freight on time and in good condition.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B with appropriate endorsements (Hazmat/Tanker preferred).
- Must possess a clean driving record with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
- Minimum of 2 years of driving experience in a commercial environment.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of Baltimore area roads, port terminals, and traffic patterns.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
