Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers on dedicated night routes within Washington DC metropolitan area
- Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Load/unload freight with precision using pallet jacks and forklift training
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records
- Communicate proactively with dispatch team regarding route conditions and delivery status
- Coordinate with warehouse staff for efficient loading/unloading procedures
- Adapt to changing schedules and prioritize time-sensitive deliveries
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of over-the-road truck driving experience
- Familiarity with Washington DC traffic patterns and urban navigation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work independently in overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Pass background check and drug screening per federal regulations
- Basic knowledge of freight documentation and bill of lading procedures
