Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, organs, and sensitive materials using temperature-controlled containers
- Maintain strict chain of custody documentation and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Coordinate with healthcare facilities for efficient pickup and delivery scheduling
- Perform vehicle safety inspections and maintain cleanliness of transport equipment
- Utilize GPS navigation for timely deliveries across Pittsburgh's metropolitan area
- Communicate delivery status updates to dispatch and receiving facilities
- Adhere to biohazard safety procedures and emergency response protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical courier, logistics, or healthcare transportation
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficient with smartphone navigation apps and basic delivery tracking systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional time management skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Pass background check and drug screening
