Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, blood products, organs, and pharmaceuticals in temperature-controlled containers
- Maintain strict chain of custody documentation and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Optimize delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals across LA County
- Perform vehicle pre/post-trip inspections and maintain inventory of medical supplies
- Communicate proactively with healthcare facilities regarding delivery status
- Adhere to biohazard safety procedures during all handling processes
- Utilize GPS tracking systems for real-time route adjustments
Qualifications
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Previous medical courier or healthcare logistics experience preferred
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficiency with electronic logging systems and mobile applications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate temperature-controlled equipment
- Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and specimen handling
