Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, organs, and blood products between hospitals, labs, and clinics
- Maintain strict temperature control for sensitive materials using specialized equipment
- Complete accurate delivery documentation and chain-of-custody forms
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and biohazard safety protocols
- Coordinate with healthcare facilities to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and cleanliness protocols
- Utilize GPS navigation systems for efficient routing
- Communicate delivery status updates to dispatch and receiving facilities
Qualifications
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical logistics or healthcare transportation
- Certification in OSHA bloodborne pathogens training preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
