Responsibilities
- Transport medical specimens, lab results, and pharmaceuticals between hospitals, labs, and clinics with strict adherence to temperature control protocols
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and chain-of-custody documentation for all sensitive materials
- Utilize GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and on-time deliveries
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness of transport equipment
- Communicate delivery status updates to healthcare providers via our secure tracking system
- Coordinate with dispatch team for urgent same-day deliveries and emergency pickups
- Complete detailed delivery logs and incident reports as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical transportation certification preferred
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds regularly
- Strong attention to detail and strict adherence to safety protocols
- Basic knowledge of medical specimen handling and biohazard procedures
- Proficiency with mobile technology and GPS navigation systems
- Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Previous courier or logistics experience in healthcare setting a plus
