Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, lab samples, and sensitive materials between healthcare facilities
- Maintain strict temperature control for sensitive shipments using specialized equipment
- Accurately document chain of custody and maintain electronic delivery records
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and biohazard safety protocols at all times
- Optimize delivery routes using GPS technology to ensure timely pickups/deliveries
- Communicate professionally with healthcare staff and resolve delivery exceptions
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Participate in continuous safety training and process improvements
Qualifications
- Valid Washington driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical courier or specimen transport
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certification preferred
- Proficiency with mobile scanning and electronic tracking systems
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Flexibility to work weekends and occasional early morning shifts
