Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, lab samples, pharmaceuticals, and equipment between hospitals, clinics, and laboratories
- Maintain strict temperature control and chain-of-custody protocols for sensitive materials
- Utilize GPS technology for efficient route planning and real-time delivery tracking
- Complete meticulous documentation and electronic scanning of delivery manifests
- Provide exceptional customer service to healthcare staff during pickup/dropoff interactions
- Perform routine vehicle safety inspections and maintenance checks
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and medical waste disposal regulations
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding delivery delays or route changes
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical courier, logistics, or healthcare transportation
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certification or willingness to obtain
- Proficient with mobile technology and delivery management systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and operate in various weather conditions
- Strong time management skills with ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
