Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, organs, and pharmaceuticals via temperature-controlled vehicles
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and chain-of-custody protocols for all sensitive materials
- Perform precise deliveries to hospitals, labs, clinics, and research facilities across Bakersfield
- Complete electronic manifests and delivery documentation with 100% accuracy
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure maintenance standards
- Provide exceptional customer service to healthcare partners during high-stakes deliveries
- Adapt to urgent/emergency transport requests with flexibility and professionalism
Qualifications
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- 1+ years medical courier or specialized delivery experience
- Successful background check and drug screening
- Proficiency with GPS navigation and mobile documentation systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Certification in biohazard handling or medical transport a plus
- Knowledge of Bakersfield healthcare geography essential
