Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, blood products, organs, and pharmaceuticals in temperature-controlled containers
- Maintain strict chain of custody documentation and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Navigate San Jose area efficiently using GPS technology to meet critical delivery windows
- Perform vehicle safety inspections and maintain sterile transport conditions
- Communicate with hospital staff, labs, and clinics using medical terminology
- Handle emergency STAT deliveries with urgency and professionalism
- Complete electronic delivery logs and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year medical courier or healthcare logistics experience
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and operate in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail with flawless documentation skills
- Proficiency with mobile tracking apps and electronic reporting systems
