Responsibilities
- Transport temperature-sensitive medical specimens, organs, and medications between hospitals, labs, and clinics
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and chain-of-custody protocols
- Utilize GPS tracking systems for real-time route optimization and delivery verification
- Prepare and maintain specialized medical transport equipment (coolers, dry shippers, etc.)
- Document all transfers using electronic logging systems and maintain accurate delivery records
- Coordinate with healthcare facilities to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure safe operating conditions
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record and commercial vehicle experience preferred
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate temperature-controlled transport equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation
- Exceptional time management with ability to meet strict delivery windows
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and specimen handling protocols
- Proficiency with mobile technology and electronic tracking systems
- Background check and drug screening clearance required
