Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, blood products, organs, and pharmaceuticals in temperature-controlled vehicles
- Maintain strict chain-of-custody documentation for all medical deliveries
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance protocols and biohazard handling procedures
- Coordinate with hospital labs, clinics, and pharmacies for efficient pickup/delivery scheduling
- Perform vehicle safety inspections and maintain cleanliness of transport equipment
- Utilize GPS navigation systems to optimize routes and ensure timely arrivals
- Communicate delivery status updates to dispatch and receiving facilities
- Respond to urgent medical transport requests with flexibility and urgency
Qualifications
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record (3+ years)
- Medical courier or healthcare logistics experience preferred
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate temperature-controlled equipment
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional time-management skills
- Proficient with electronic logging systems and mobile technology
- Background check and drug screen clearance required
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification a plus
