Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, lab samples, and pharmaceuticals using company-provided vehicles
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, temperature records, and chain-of-custody documentation
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance protocols for patient data confidentiality
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient route optimization and urgent deliveries
- Perform pre-trip inspections and vehicle maintenance checks
- Communicate professionally with healthcare staff at delivery locations
- Follow biohazard handling procedures and safety regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean MVR (no more than 2 minor violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Basic knowledge of medical specimen handling and temperature control
- Strong time management and route navigation skills
- Attention to detail with documentation accuracy
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Previous courier or medical transport experience preferred
