Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery vehicles (Box Trucks, Straight Trucks, or Vans) on assigned local routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload merchandise, ensuring proper handling and secure storage.
- Interact professionally with customers, resolving delivery issues and maintaining a positive image of the company.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and digital paperwork using ELD and handheld devices.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies at all times.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
Qualifications
- License: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B (or Class A with local experience) with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in local delivery or logistics.
- Documentation: Current DOT medical card and proof of insurance.
- Skills: Strong time management skills and ability to navigate complex urban routes in Washington DC.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities throughout the workday.
- Technology: Basic proficiency with mobile applications and GPS navigation.
