Job Description
Are you ready to build the systems of tomorrow? Apex Horizon Labs is launching the 2026 Initiative, a revolutionary project to pioneer the next generation of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and neuromorphic computing. We are seeking a visionary Lead AI Architect to lead our engineering team in San Francisco and define the architectural standards for our future ecosystem.
The Future is Now
As we stand on the precipice of a technological singularity, we need a leader who can bridge the gap between theoretical research and scalable production systems. In this role, you will architect the core frameworks that will power autonomous agents, quantum-enhanced neural networks, and immersive metaverse interfaces.
What You'll Do
We are looking for a builder who is passionate about pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
Responsibilities
- Architect Scalable Systems: Design and implement robust, distributed AI infrastructure capable of processing petabytes of data in real-time for the 2026 Initiative.
- R&D Leadership: Lead a world-class team of researchers and engineers in exploring cutting-edge fields such as Neuromorphic Computing, Graph Neural Networks, and Federated Learning.
- Model Optimization: Drive the optimization of large language models (LLMs) and multimodal systems for edge deployment and low-latency inference.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and quantum physicists to integrate complex AI capabilities into consumer-ready products.
- Tech Strategy: Define the technical roadmap for the company, evaluating new frameworks and ensuring our stack remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Code Review & Mentorship: Maintain high engineering standards, conduct rigorous code reviews, and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of excellence.
Qualifications
- Education: Ph.D. or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in software engineering and machine learning, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
- Technical Stack: Deep expertise in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and distributed computing systems (Kubernetes, Apache Spark).
- Agentic AI: Proven experience building, fine-tuning, or deploying Autonomous Agents and LLMs (Large Language Models).
- System Design: Strong ability to design fault-tolerant systems and microservices architectures.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills, the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and a relentless drive for innovation.
