Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks for local and regional deliveries during night shifts (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and NYC traffic laws
- Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic records
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Navigate efficiently through NYC metropolitan area using GPS and route planning
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience
- Ability to work independently during night shifts
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb in/out of trailer
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Familiarity with NYC boroughs and surrounding areas
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and weight distribution
