Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on designated routes while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance reports
- Implement emergency evacuation procedures and student safety management
- Maintain accurate attendance records and communication with parents/school administrators
- Adhere to all federal DOT regulations and Louisiana state traffic laws
- Utilize GPS routing systems for efficient on-time performance
- Participate in quarterly safety training and defensive driving workshops
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 3 years professional driving experience with clean MVR
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Pass federal background check and DOT physical examination
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
- Experience with special needs transportation highly valued
