Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students to/from schools and extracurricular activities
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Enforce safety protocols and manage student behavior with positive reinforcement
- Maintain accurate route documentation and student attendance records
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere strictly to Texas traffic laws and district transportation policies
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and medical incidents
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger/School Bus endorsements
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Texas School Bus Driver Certification (or obtainable within 30 days)
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Child Safety CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
