Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students along designated routes while adhering to strict safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues
- Maintain a positive, orderly bus environment through effective student management
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch teams
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic regulations
- Manage emergency situations with calm professionalism
- Complete required documentation including incident reports and mileage logs
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 5 years
- Pass DOT physical, background check, and random drug screenings
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work early morning and afternoon shifts
- Experience working with children preferred
