Responsibilities
- Transport medical specimens, organs, and pharmaceuticals between hospitals, labs, and clinics with strict temperature control protocols
- Maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation and HIPAA-compliant handling of sensitive materials
- Operate specialized medical transport equipment including refrigerated units and biohazard containers
- Adapt to urgent/emergency deliveries while maintaining safety standards and route efficiency
- Perform vehicle pre/post-trip inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Communicate delivery status updates via GPS tracking systems to healthcare providers
- Train on new medical transport technologies and regulatory compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- 1+ years experience in medical courier, logistics, or healthcare transport
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency with GPS navigation and mobile communication systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted and stand/walk for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail with zero-error tolerance for medical specimens
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holiday shifts
- Pass background check and drug screening per healthcare industry standards
